Cornwall, Day 2 (Sunshine, Rain, and the Minor Injuries Unit)

It started so beautifully, Cornwall at its loveliest with gulls wheeling and the friendly milkman driving slowly by. Exactly the sorts of things that bring the SconeLady back, and back again.

But - alas! The cobbled streets were suddenly and strangely wobbly, threatening to bring me to them like a magnet. "Rosie, can you take me home?" I whispered. And she did. And we watched and waited for the spell to dissipate and for all to be well once again. When it wasn't, and when the nurse 'on call' said "Madam, we recommend you get to Truro Hospital", they two bundled me into Ted's posh car and we were away.

The day was spent with kindly doctors examining, testing, poking and consulting. And hello, there is a LOT to be said for the NHS, dear Readers! Let us give Three Cheers for them! We will now watch, and wait, and see how the dizzy feelings go (I do so want them to 'go'), and I shall keep you posted. In the meantime, just look at St Ives:

A moment ago we took a slow stroll down to the shore, and were amazed. It changes constantly, the sky and the sea, offering something for everyone who cares to gaze. And now we have come back for the evening, likely to have some lovely fish with fresh grilled vegetables and a loaf from the St Ives Bakery, which will forever produce the nicest bread you'll ever taste.

Just another day in Paradise.

See you along the way!
the SconeLady
